submission guide lines

you want to work as a writer for back 2 zero?  We're happy to review your ideas, it's just that there is a way to do so which makes sure that your work is recieved and gets the attention it deserves.  Below are some general rules to follow when submitting to back 2 zero followed by some specific ones based on the nature of your submission.

  1.  don't just roll up on us at a convention.  Yes meeting us at a booth during a convention is a great way to meet us in person, but if we're at a convention we are most likely selling our titles and won't be able to get into the nitty gritty of why we like your work or any of other pertinent details.  please follow the guidelines below because ultimatley that's what we're going to suggest that you do anyway.

 2.  we reserve the right to edit once the submission is accepted.  this one applies more to prospective writers than prospective artists.  after we see your submission, and we if like it, after we have paid you for it, you will recieve credit as the writer of the story but we will make or have you make any and all edits to the story that we feel are necessary.

 3.  include your name and contact information-  tell us who you are and how we can reach you.  include a reliable phone number and email address, as well as a physical mailing address and fax numnber (if applicable).  send any links to social media if you have any.  send all submissions to contact@back2zero.net.

  2. if we accept your pitch we will then tell you to write up a full script, we pay a flat rate, but only for completed scripts.

submitting a story for a new title

Got an idea for the next big thing?  we can't wait to see it!  here's what you need to get it published with us:

  1. don't come to us with an idea, come to us with a book.  if you want to submit a new title to back zero don't just send us your ideas or a written outline of your series, send us a completed print-ready book, with pencils, inks, colors (or not if it's black and white), lettering and cover art.

 2. once you have a book ready send us a submission packet.  your submission packet should consist of the following materials:

  • COVER ART- SEND A FULLY ILLUSTRATED COVER FOR THE FIRST ISSUE OF YOUR SERIES or title.

  • FIVE SAMPLE PAGES- SEND THE FIVE PAGES THAT REALLY SELL THE BOOK.  IT CAN BE THE FIRST FIVE, THE LAST FIVE OR FIVE PAGES FROM ALL OVER THE BOOK AS LONG AS THEY SHOW WHY THIS TITLE IS SUCH A GREAT read.

  • SERIES OUTLINE-  TELL US THE WHOLE STORY.  NOT JUST WHAT HAPPENS IN THE FIRST ISSUE, BUT ALL THE HIGHLIGHTS AND HOW EVERYTHING TURNS OUT.  Also tell us specifically who the target audience for the book is.  which age range, fans of which genre, etc.

 3. If we like your work your book will be a creator owned title.  You will be credited as the creator of the work but it will be published under our logo for the period of time that we both agree to.  we will take payment as a portion of the book's sales.
